One important highlight was by popular request – all candidates will be able to use calculators on their psychomotor examinations starting January 1, 2022.
- Calculators are now included in the equipment list for the following skills.
- Oral Skill
- Integrated Out of Hospital
- Intravenous Bolus Medications
- Pediatric Intraosseous Infusion
- Skills excluded from this list do not have calculations.
- Calculators must be simple calculators that perform basic PEMDAS functions (parenthesis, exponents, multiplication, division, addition, and subtraction) and are limited to a memory recall function.
- Examples of approved calculators: Casio MS-80B, Sharp EL-244WB, and CATIG CD-8185
- The National Registry will not provide calculators. They are included in the equipment list for the pertinent skills.
- Calculators with higher level mathematical operations and storage capacity are strictly prohibited.
